Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I have worked for a non-union plumbing company for the past three years. after one year of employment every employee is allowed one week paid vacation. my request for vacation has been denied four times in till recently. I was told I would be allowed one week off but with out pay. What are the necessary steps i must take so that my rights are not violated? thank you for your time

Unless there is some is some unlawful discriminatory application (i.e. age, nationality, race, sex or disability) of your employers vacation policy, it may be perfectly legal for your employer to change their vacation policy in midstream.
