Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I have been working 3 days a week for 6 years with a temporary staffing corporation. They are demanding me to work an extra day or they will force me to resign. Can they do this?

Generally, NY is an "at will" employment state. That means, absent an employment contract, you are free to quit whenever you want, and your employer is free to fire you at any time and for any reason, except a legally prohibited reason (e.g., race, religion, ethnicity, etc.). If you do not have an employment contract, then you can be fired for not working the extra time.
