Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I have been working for Family Dollar and their taking advantage upon me. I don't get lunch not even a break, over worked hours (12+ per day), working non-stop for over a week and then some, up and down positions (from being a Service Assistant to Assistant Manager to a Field Specialist to a Manager and back down to an Assistant Manager all within 15 months and no explanation of what's happening or even why), misconduct from District Managers (yelling and being unprofessional regardless of their surroundings). What can I do to take action of this case in matter?

You must be given a minimum 30 minute meal break (does not have to be a paid break).
Overtime pay must be paid in excess of 40 hours per week. If you are not receiving either of these you should contact The New York State Department of Labor. I'm not sure which office is the closest to you but I have listed a few below for your convenience.

I agree, you are entitled to half an hour for lunch for a full day of work.
Have you complained to your union about your problems at work?
Have you filed a complaint with the National Labour Relations Board or the NYS Department of Labour?
have you complaint to Human Resources about your workings conditions?
