Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Can this be wrongful termination?

I was discharged because I admitted to giving $2.00 discounts which upon my employment was known as the $2.00 decision. I was given the option to pay back upon estimation of a 2 year period the dollar amount in discounts to retain my job but was still fired and now the company states to the labor department that I was stealing property and now my $58.60 in unemployment is at stake not to mention my character as I never stole I was doing what I thought was right and what my store and the stores in my area do and still do.

Re: Can this be wrongful termination?

The issue becomes one of authorization. Who told you you could make these $2 decisions? Was it a person who you could reliably and reasonably beleive was in a position of authoirty to implement management policy. If these decisions were your own undertaking, I'm afraid you are out of luck.
