Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Wrongful termination at Wesco Distribution Incorporated:
I was recently terminated at my job,( August 6 2010) which I worked for 18 months (started in October 1 of 2008) and was never reprimanded or written up. I was actually praised quit often from my old boss.
A new boss took over a little over a year in a half who was my old co-worker who never liked me anyways and I know she wanted me gone. Out of the blue I was told I am not working out anymore, and was told to leave that day! I have tried repeatedly to call human resources and I have gotten only voice mails with no call backs.
Something just seems wrong about all this. Is there a New York policy on terminating employees who have been there longer than 90 days? Do I have a legal case here?
