Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
my attorney went to l&t court for me in nyc because i was not able to go due to starting a new job. i gave him all of the necessary information including the lease and stated what i owed. he then made an agreement with the atty for the landlord for more.i went to the office and paid what i originally owed, a week later i then went back to pay what was wanted and found out that they would not take the check but also entered a default judgement against me. i let my atty know. now what?

You and your attorney need to make an immediate motion to vacate the judgment and stay any eviction. It needs to be done today. Your attorney should already be in court getting the file and preparing the motion. Once a judgment is entered, you could receive a three day warning of removal.
