Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
Where do my belonging go when am evited?
The questions that i would like to ask are as follows. I was evited from a Manhattan building, I owed rent and I pay some of it and the next time I was going to court I was supposed to pay the rest. The day I went to court to pay the money I didn't have it so the Judge made an order for the Sheriff to close my apartment. When I got to my apartment the marshalls had closed the apartment already. My question is what happens to my personal belongings and how long will they hold them for me? I never got none of my stuff. I had alot of things that can never be replaced like (photos, documents, etc.) So if you could please help me you would be saving a broken heart. Thank You.

Contact the landlord, arrange for a time to remove your stuff. I would expect the landlord would be as anxious to have your stuff out of the apartment as you are.
