Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
being evicted before moving in
My aunt had rented an apartment, the landlord gave her the keys as she was supposed to move in on the first she had her utilities turned on and the landlord was calling her every night wanting her to come over to the apartment and meet with him at 10 11 oclock at night by herself and she would not go so 3 days before she was to move in he told her that she could not have the apartment because she would not comply with his request and come over can he legally do this after he already rented her the apartment and she had her utilities turned on

Re: being evicted before moving in
I believe under the circumstances, the landlord's demands are unreasonable, if not illegal however to enforce the lease, it may be necessary for your aunt to start a legal proceeding in housing court.
