Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Evicting a relative from the household

My mother signed a rental agreement with her landlord that stated that she and I are to be the only 2 inhabitants of the rented mobile home. Her 22 year old grandson now lives with us and has been living here for approximately one and one half years without paying rent which he is capable of doing as he has 2 jobs. He fails to cooperate with us when we ask him to help with any household chores (both my mother and I are disabled) and is very disrespectful of us both. I verbally informed him that he must find other living arrangements approximately one month ago and he had failed to do so. What are the legal steps to have him removed from the household?

Can you help us in this matter?

Thank you.

you would have to do a formal eviction as he is a tenant even though he doesn't pay any money.
