Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Eviction

My college son was evicted from a apartment he shares with 3 roommates. The eviction occured because 1 of the room mates hasn't paid rent X3 months. Just received a bill from apartment complex for remaining amount of of lease (4/06-8/06) plus cleaning and new carpet fees. Who is responsible for remaining rent? Thanks for the info.

Re: Eviction

All of the tenants who signed the lease collectively are responsible, then all of the tenants that paid extra can sue the deadbeat roommate for his failure to contribute.
