Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

frustrated landlord 222

I rented an apartment to this 4 member family. the lease was for a year. 2 months after, 2 other members showed up. I didn't complaint. At the end of March, supposebly the father abandoned the mother with the children. When it was time to pay the rent in April, The mother told me that she had applied for some rent assistance. time passed and she lived her deposit & she had 3 months without paying rent. I hired a lawyer we went to court but the judge told the lady to leave the apartment no later then Dec 31. In the middle of December, the lady received the marshall letter for eviction, and then she went to me with checks that she was getting to pay the rent all along!! My guess is that she was trying to cash them, but unfortunatly my name appered also on the checks & she couldn' cash them without my signature. So we went to cash the checks and she paid me for what ever rent she owned. the lease is expired & i don't want to renew it. The 2nd time we went to court her cause for non-pmt was, that since i didn't want to renew the contract she felt she didn't have to pay! now what? she is ruin my family tranquility and to top it off the lawyer that i hire talks more in her favor!! I need this lady out of my house!! Please help!!
