Illegal aptartment

I JUST FOUNF OUT MY BASEMENT APT. IS ILLEGAL, I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A STOVE FOR 22 DAYS, HOLES FROM WATER DAMAGE IN MY KITCHEN CEILING AND TEMPITURE IN MY APT IS OFTEN 49 DEGRESS (I DONT CONTROL MY OWN HEAT). wHAT ARE THE LAWS TO PRTECT ME...MY LANDLORD HAS 1800.00 DOLLARS SECURITY AND I AM SCARCED I WILL NOT GET IT IF I LEAVE????

This is an example of the landlord violating your 'warranty of habitability'.

1) put your rent into a separate bank account instead of giving it to the landlord.

2) decide if you want the problems fixed or just move out

3) find a lawyer who will get you what you want based on your own decision.
