Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Illegal house

i recently went to court with my landlord for back rent the case was dismissed becuase one of the landlords is living in the basement which makes the house illegal.since this is a registered two family home and having two tnets paying rent and one landlord living in the basement makes it illegal. Now I recieved a court paper which i am not sure yet for what but I have a feeling she is trying to evict me now as i reported to Con ed that my light is being stolen and they found the wires cross wired can she still have me evicted even though the house is still illegal and one landlord is still living in the basement

Re: Illegal house

Yes, they may still evict you... the illegality of the rental is inconsequential
