Landlord anbandons property

As of today I haven't seen the landlord since May 31, 2008. He hasn't been by to collect rent. Now the house is in foreclosure can the bank evict me and my family? I've been keeping my receipts of the money I've put into the house. It came to my attention that my apartment is illegal. It's listed as a 2 family dwelling but there are 3 floors and each floor has a family living on it. My apt. is on the ground flr. of the house. Other than that my apt. is in compliance with the law

Only a court can evict you.

If and when you receive court papers, consult with a local landlord/tenant attorney. The bank cannot terminate your essential services without court order.
