landlord shut water service

i live in new york city and my landlord wants us to move out of the apartment. he now shut off the water service and police do not want to do anything about it. what will be the way to make him stop from shutting off the water and other harrassments???

Call 311 and make a complaint. Monday morning call Metropolitan Council on Housing (www.metcouncil.net), South Brooklyn Legal Services or Bronx Defenders, depending on where you live. Tell them what the landlord is doing. They will explain how they can help you.
