landlord just sold the house
we have lived here for 11 years w/kids, what is our legal recourse? how long do we have, how do we get $ to move out when xmas is next month? what happened to our security being in an escrow account?

You may have rights. Depending on the nature of your lease. If you do not have a lease, you still must be provided with 30 days notice to move.
