Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
Sometimes I am late with my rent. When I am summoned to court, in addition to the rent due, I am asked to pay a legal fee of $255.00? Is this legal?

If there is a provision in the lease that directs the payment of legal fees, then the answer would be yes. It is legal.
