needs lawyer
i live in a aprtment now but my landlord wants my kid and myself out of the apt. by feb 28 2007 because my kid told them about a leak in the bathroom and also they told us we were using too much of water we told them we ur hardly home and we owe no rent and never had any problems with them before this... my question to you is can they tell us and send us a note saying that we need to move by feb 28. 2007 ? and should we pay the rent of the month we ur moving? they have no cause just they saying we use to much water and there bill is high is that cause to make someone move within 30 days? we live in a pvt. home is month to month rent. plz let me know what we can do im disable and my kid works and school. we just want to know if they can do this matter leally. or can we fight this in court. we have no money right now and no place to move. we ur seraching for a new place to live so. i just want to know if this is ileagal of them moving us out cause of a water bill too high? thanx--name removed--plz email me with notice of what we should do thanx.

I am sorry to respond with so little comfort. If you have no lease, then you may be given 30 days to move and then taken to court.
The only plus I can give you is that you can delay moving out up to six months if it goes to court. You must respond to the petition for an order of eviction and then ask the judge for the full six months.

you can fight this in court, generally you can not be evicted from your home without a court order to do so. It is VERY important you contact an attorney immediately.
