Is a lease binding if signed by only 1 party?
I signed a lease to rent a store. The landlord said his brother who was to sign was out of town for 2 weeks. He turned over the store, gave me the keys and cashed a 6 month security check. He visited the premises several times with nothing but praise of our workmanship. Now he wants us to leave since another store says we are in direct competition. Is our lease still valid? Can we proceed with our store opening? SHouldn't the problem be between the landlord 7 other tenant not us?
