Lease renewal
I live in a rent stabilized apartment building. For the past three years my daughter has been signing the least with me since she turned 18.
My landlord indicates it was an oversight and they have refused to approve my lease which expired since August 2005, unless I sign alone.
Legally, can they suddenly refused to approve my lease?
My goal is to ensure if something happen to me or I move, they cannot treat my daughter as a new tenant which significantly higher rent.

They cannot refuse a lease to you. You may have implied consent since your daughter has been listed on lease for last three years. This is a slam dunk under the law. Your daughter is on the lease and cannot be remov4ed.
Even in the event of your passing, she would qualify as a 'surviving family member' (SFM).
I have dealt with this situation before. Often the landlord will comply on receiving a letter from a lawyer.
