Re: Lease Termination

If your lease is a month to month lease, you need to give a month's notice prior to terminating. If your lease is for a term (until a certain date) you will need your landlord's consent to terminate the lease. If you are planning to break the lease you should tell your landlord of your situation and desire to get out of the lease and you will need to work out a settlement. It may cost you a month or two in rent but it will cost less than if you abandon the apartment and your landlord sues you for the balance of the term.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
