I am on a lease with one other person signed on as a leasee. He has since moved out, with no notice and the landlord is trying to pursue me for full rent. I am willing to pay my half, as I did not breach agreement of the lease. Can she force me to pay the full amount?

The short answer is yes, as you are on the lease and still staying there... Generally they can go after you, then it would be your responsibility to go after your old roommate for his portion...
