Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
Legal Fees
My landlord has just sent me a letter stating I owe them $1000 in legals fees for all the late payments of my rent. There is a $25 fee for late payments which I have paid every time I was late. I have review my lease and the only time I am required to pay legal fees is if we go to court in which we have not, therefore, what is my legal obligation and how should I handle this request

Re: Legal Fees
If the lease is as you state, you probably don't have any legal obligation to pay legal fees, assuming you have not gone to court, I would be interested in assisting you in this matter, if you'd like.
