Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
Marshall notice of eviction
Received 6 day Marshall eviction notice. Prior Order to show cause we complied with part of the payment agreement (stipulation). Other part we are awaiting from DSS Social Services. This may or may not be approved. Last stipulation states we could work on payment arrangements for the back rent. Paid all other obligations except part of balance. Landlord record indicates from the rent history records that we owe $2,055 only vs. $2,105 in Stip. Going to court tomorrow 11/13/03 to try to seek an Order to show cause. Any good defense?

Re: Marshall notice of eviction
Write down what you want to say before going to court. Emphasize that the 'stip' requires best efforts and that you are taking action. Also, that you gave the Landlord all of your cash - you have no way of finding alternative housing.
good luck
