Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
My mom is a site manager of an apartment building. Her number is posted multiple places in case of an emergency. She has a tenant who is being evicted due to nonpayment of rent. She just received a phone call this morning about a railing being broken & a supposed injury that apparently happened on Fri, she just got a call on it today, Sun. The apparent injured person is a friend of the one who is being evicted. No police report was filed, no hospital report, nothing. They are threatening with a lawsuit, do they have a leg to stand on or what can be done?
