Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
Noisy Tenants Refuses to Leave
On behalf of my neighbor (the landlord): Upstairs tenants play loud music and make noise whenever they feel like it and ignores landlord's (polite) complaints. Police came once or twice but it didn't do any good. Tenants refuses to leave (I don't think there was a lease involved when they first moved in). The landlords inquired about eviction and said that it costs $10,000+ for a lawyer and other legal fees. Is there a quick and non-costly way with this eviction business?? Thanks.

Re: Noisy Tenants Refuses to Leave
There is no reason in the world for a standars eviction in NYC to cost that much. We regularly handle cases like this and costs usually run from 1800 - 3500 for complete handling of the case from serving notices, court filings and even a trial if necessary and all expenses. This area of law is our specialty, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
