Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

parking

i was wondering about parking in a two dwelling home. my landlord does not want us to park in the driveway because he has a garden in the backyard behind the garage where he grows some things during the summer. mind you this garden is in no way near the driveway and he only comes at least once a week to check on the garden.my question to you is is it legal for him to restrict us from using the driveway? we do not have a lease and pay our rent on time every month! offstreet parking has become such a hassle at night when my wife comes from work and has to park down the block because there is no parking near by!

Re: parking

If it is not in the agreement (oral or written) between you and the landlord, it is legal for him to require that you not park in the driveway.

Mike.
