Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
i am considering to sell my townhouse....my x boyfriend lives with me....at the moment.....and has been for a little over 2 years ....and he doesnt pay for anything...what is the procedure about having him leave....if the house sells right away and he has no where to go am i responsible for him in any way.....seeing he gives this address as his residence....i live in upstate new york ...do i need to see a lawyer .....

I recommend you talk to a lawyer. Essentially if you want to sell the house and if the buyer wants the house vacant, the it is the seller's responsibility to deliver the house that way. You must start an eviction process right away.
