Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

can I use small claims court to enforce an agreement between a former tenant and myself for $4500 in New York? The tenant has a signed surrender agreement aGreeing to the amount. or do I have to go back to housing court

Small claims court can award money but not possession. Only the Landlord-Tenant parts of Civil Court can be used to evict.
