A son lives in a family home, has taken responsibility for 10 years, was told the deed would then be turned over to him, now his mother is telling him to leave. What are his rights?

Normally an agreement to purchase real property must be in writing. However, there are several exceptions to this rule, one being equitable reliance.
This is a very technical argument. I would suggest using an attorney if you want to commence litigation.
