Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
My tenant in Long Beach, NY (Long Island) is not paying the rent. I want to sue them for the back rent and evict them. Is there anything special about serving someone in Long Beach? Thanks.

Service of either a 30 day notice or a demand for rent should be made under the lease agreement (either personal or certified mail). To commence the action you would need a process server.
