i have been living with a roommate for 2 years who recently passed away last week, the building i live in has income requirements. my roommate was told by the management company to get a roommate because he was behind in rent, i hhave been paying $500 a month for 2 years, the rent was $479.00 i have rent recents for every transaction, my bills come here as well.

today i received a letter stated i have to move out by january 9, but was dated jan 9 2005, there are tenants who live here who make above the required amount to live here, i would like to keep the apartment although i was not on the lease, the management company knew that i was living here and that i made more money than required, what can i do to keep the apartment..
