Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Terminating a residential lease to purchase a home

I have heard that there is a law by which a landlord must let a tenant out of his lease if the termination of the lease is to purchase a home. I've never heard that before. Is there such a law in the State of New York?

There is no such law in NY, but it is a good idea.

It sounds like you are looking to leave your current residence without continuing with the lease payments. I may be able to help develop a plan that will get you off the lease.

You are welcome to a consultation at no fee at my offices at 42 west 44th st., NY,NY. Please call for an appointment first. (646) 591-5786
