Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

my theater has recently vacated a horrible space after 4 1/2 years when we found the landlord was not zoned to even rent to us at all- he however was always overly friendly with me- and was asked once verbally not to show up when he knew i was there. now that we have left he continues to harrass me - 'come back and clean', 'come back and move this' (we were saddled with 100's of pounds of stuff when we moved in and we only left a pile of wood) - it all boils down to he wants me to come back to the space. he has been told twice now by email that if he dpes not stop this i will take action- can i get an order of protection?

Is the harassment physical (meaning he's in your presence) or remote (phone or email)? If it is remote, may I ask why you can't just ignore his advances? People are harassed by people who contact them with unwanted advances all the time, I'm just trying to figure out why this is different from any other situation where someone who you don't wish to see keeps pursuing a conversation with you. Either way, if you want to file any kind of order, you should contact the D.A.'s office in your community to get a bit of (free) advice about best steps with this matter.

I don't want to tell you to ignore it because I don't know all the facts. But the district attorney's office can give you clear direction on next steps in this matter. Hope this helps.
