Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
new york state landlord with a tenant who owes 40,000 in back rent. Tenant has now moved out. is there a way to file a lien on her bank account
1 Answer from Attorneys
You would need to file a lawsuit against her and obtain a judgment before you could do that. Were there additional damages left in the apartment? Did she vacate before lease was up? Did she return the keys to you? We have substantial experience handling these types of cases and very reasonable fees. However, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
