Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
The YWCA of Yonkers, NY rendered me homeless by...
...refusing the rent I kept trying to pay them for three months in a row, then sued me, and rendered me HOMELESS by doing so. I hadn't been a bad tenant, nor done ANYTHING extreme at all. I was harassed very cruelly by the residents of the YWCA of Yonkers (with the staff turning a blind eye to the many cruelties) and I hadn't been told by the staff that many of the residents of that YWCA were former convicts and had a totally different mentality than mine (they actually beat people up on a daily basis), one hollered ''Heil Hitler!'' at me on Hannukah as I was leaving to go to Synagogue, and the 100% black staff and the residents (90% black, 8% Hispanic, 2% white and varied) really REAMED & harrassed me during my eight months living there on an everyday basis then topped it off by turning me HOMELESS. Yes, I KNOW THAT IT'S MY WORD AGAINST THEIRS, BUT IT'S ALWAYS THAT WAY - THATS THE NATURE OF SUING. It was a HORRIBLE experience and my life has been HELL since the day I moved into the YWCA of Yonkers and I MUST SUE THEM for what they did to me. Not only that, but they badmouthed me to a place that was going to rent me a three-room apartment in Yonkers so I didn't get housing. They are a HORRIBLE organization and should be sued.
