Barber Licensen in NYS

what misdemeanor or felony would prevent me from obtaining a Barber license?

You can be denied a barber's license if you have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude.

Usually that means crimes involving stealing & lying (larceny robbery perjury etc.)

There is some reason to believe that if a person can prove that they have changed and are of good moral character, the state can be forced to grant the license but the cases are not sufficient to secure that advice right now.

In other words, you will pay your money and take you chances.

You may contact me if you wish to proceed against the state and force them to give you a license.
