Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York

conflict of interest

Good day hope u can assist me with a problem. I am an event decorator/florist and my husband works at a hotel, where I would sometimes get business from. The hotel manager is suggesting that because my husband works there its a conflict of interest, even though the hotel doesn't offer these services. Is thie true? There is no law that would prevent the hotel from referring business to you.

However, the manager may prefer to tell his banquet clients that he has no connection to any of the vendors. That is his business judgment. He may also be asking for a consideration.
