Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York

Can i pursue any legal remedies?

I retained an attorney for a divorce over 2 and a half years years ago. I had a lot of problems so i filed a grievance against him. To make a long story short the grievance i filed against him resulted in a letter of admonition for neglecting a legal matter entrusted to him and the committee found that his conduct constituted a breach of the code of responsibility. The matter has been closed as of 9/3/03 and my divorce was finalized in february of 2003. I wanted to know if there are any legal remedies avaible to me? Can i sue for money that i paid to him?

Re: Can i pursue any legal remedies?

Well you may very well have an actionable legal malpractice claim against the attorney depending on a few factors namely, what exactly he did wrong and when you had discovered it..however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
