Real estate agent black listing me

I was on hard times and got evicted from an apartment an RE agent rented me-she was friends with the owner. NOw I am doing good but need an apartment and she has told all the realtors in town what happened which has made it imposible for me to get an apartment. can I sue her for defermation of charactor?

Not really. If what she told them was true, that is an absolute defense to a defamation action. On the other hand, if she has lied or if she is in any way discriminating against you, then there are other law suits that can be brought to effect her ability to continue being a an Agent.
