Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York
The is a case of malpractice my mother passed away 7 years in nursing home. The case involved two hospitals and nursing home. The lawyer settle for 275,000 I notice their was lot paper missing that held up thing in court which made it longer after being settled. I think he was afraid of the hospitals did not want to go trial. I brought the medical records to the lawyer I had a hard time to some to take my case. This is my question the paperwork is in surrogate court the Bronx the last thing Lawyer told me is that the court is waiting for tax waiver. Tax waiver came back 10 days ago but the judge didn't sign off on it the judge wants all the lawyers in court 4/21/15. He told me to call him back to see what it all about. I would have got my settlement at least by next week. I don't know about this lawyer, he seem okay in the beginning but thing changed.

Ask your attorney to notify you of any proceedings in court so you can be present. Court processes are long, arduous and complex; I am sure your attorney wants his legal fee as promptly as you want your distribution.
