Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York
Is it common practice for your lawyer to ask you to sign a waiver of liability releasing them of any conflict of interest at the END of a house closing? Are there any NY Law requirements that this letter must have? Is it legal if the letter has no letterhead, no date, no To: , or From:, and was never explained?

Yes, it is strange. You should contact your attorney to demand an explanation. If the explanation is not satisfactory, you may not want to sign the waiver.
