Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York

debt collection

My daughters ex matrimonial lawyer is suing me (her mom) for a made up bill to spite my daughters bankrupcy last year. She has my 15 year old grand-daughter served while she tried to enter my home to feed my cat because I work out of the country for days at a time. She does not live with me, I am widowed. This lawyer has a pattern of abuse that can be proved, people will come forward(more than 10 people). This lawyer didnot follow matrimonial rules for billing and the bill is also a fraud, ti was made up and the lawyer sent it to my daughters bankruptcy lawyer after my daughter filed for a chapter 7. This lawyer threatened me with nasty letters to threaten me and my son in law to ''get back at my daughter''. This lawyer abuses all her clients, there is a pattern that would shock you. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Should I get a lawyer?

Thank you, Pamela

Re: debt collection

Its probably reccomended in a situation such as this to retain the services of a lawyer to ensure that all of your right are preserved. Additionally, it seems that you may have a viable counterclaim against the lawyer and could certainly pursue that as well as action via the bar association for the conduct you have described. This area of law is our specialty, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
