Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York
Lawyer's lack of response after retainer paid
A lawyer in Geneva NY was enlisted by a friend of mine to help him get his driver license back after being convicted of a dwi. He lost his license for a year with the judge and was put on probation for five years. The probation officer has denied his license request, although he has completely complied with all of the standing orders.
The lawyer was given $750.00 for a retained on May 3, 2002 and has done nothing. Dozens attempts to contact the attorney have been fruitless. What venu is available to get his money back and whom cn he contact to bring a charge of fraud or malfeasance due to a deliberate avoidance?
Thank you
