Legal malpractice

I had hired a lawyer who turned out to be recently out of law school to handle a case against a doctor who had done surgery on my nose & breathing issues. The doctor made many mistakes and I am currently in pain & suffering. The lawyer had run the statute of limitations to the point where my case was thrown out. My only recourse now is to file against the attorney & hope to recover against his malpractice insurance and/or him personally. I know that this type of case is like two trials. One to prove the doctor was wrong & I am entitled to X amount of damages and then to claim that against the attorney. I did file in Queens Supreme Court and got an index number I have 120 days to serve the attorney. I did this to preserve my rights and not to have to worry that the statute of limitations would run out on my only last hope my former attorney & his insurance. Is there a lawyer or law firm who can help me. I am not working now. Used to be on 47th Street in NYC in Jewelry/Diamond business and cutter. Have not worked for several years. I am originally from Soviet Union. Speak little English mainly Russian.
