Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York

negligence

I had a tubal ligation in 1998 and later in life when I had a health issue I went to another doctor to find out what was causing my pain and they recommended a laparoscopy. I also inquired at that time if I would be a candidate for a tubal reversal, and to my surprize they told me no. I have absolutely no fallopian tiubes left. The procedure that was performed on me was a bilateral salpingectomy, not a routine tubal ligation. A doctor has no right to do whatever they feel like. They must have a standard procedure to follow. The surgery this doctor did to me is one used for a major illness such as a tubal pregnancy or cancer. I have the paperwork that proves my tubes were perfectly healthy and I have talked with other doctors who say that procedure was totally not necessary. Back in 2003 when I found out, I was devestated. I want nothing more than to have a baby. She had no right to butcher my insides.Noone is willing to help me, there is no help for a regular person. The law is on the doctors side. I feel like a doctor can play god and noone can do anything about it. If I wouldn't have had another health issue I would have never known what was done to me. That's why people don't trust doctors. Can you help me?
