Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York

I was scamed by the United law group 8 months ago I paid them $2500 for a loan modification they told me not to talk to anyone with my motgage co., that they could not report negatively to the credit agencys,they could not call me,or try to contact me in any way, that they could not foreclose on me etc.etc. ALL OF WHICH THEY DID All attempts to contact the law group in the past several months fail multiple emails to them are unanswered phone calls and messages are also unanswered.I now find out that 2 of their attorneys are under investigation by the California law board. As they have caused the pending foreclosure on my home is there any chance of me suing them for damages and are there any honest attorneys out there willing to take on such a case????

Yes, check with your local Bar Association. The type of scam is not unusual here in down state region. Take a look at the website for the U.S. Atty. for the S. Dist. of N.Y. for information on a similar scam.
