Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York
A defendents rights following a defendents verdict
I got a defendentsverdict on frivilous medical malpractice claim against me ( a psychiatrist). The law suit arose because two Neurologists in a hospital clinic, after a cursory examination or none, told the parents of the plaintiff who is mentally retarded, autistic and non-verbal that, a medication prescribed by me and another doctor, in another clinic caused irreversible side effects. The jury unanimously rejected this claim. What action can I take against these neurologist and the (supposedly very prestigious hospita)l clinic where they worked?

Re: A defendents rights following a defendents verdict
You do not have a lot of remedies against the plaintiff. Based on the facts that you have given me the plaintiff relied on the medical opinion of the neurologists as basis to bring a suit against you. You may be able, however to bring a claim against the neurologists if you can prove that their opinion was not based on reliable medical evidence.
