misdiagnosed mri

i hurt my knee at work.had a mri done and they said i had a strain that would heal itself and a medial meniscus tear that would require surgery.(mri was done at different location)doctor performed surgery and couldnt find any tear.this was more than a year after i hurt my knee.only reason i had it done was i figured if i didnt problems could arise.(knee was feeling good for most of the year after i first hurt it.is there anything i can do because i had surgery for nothing based on their misdiagnosed mri?

You may have a medical malpractice claim against the radiologist for medical malpractice. The statute of limitations is 2 1/2 years. Depending on what the surgeon did, you may have a claim against him - he should have found a clinical basis to confirm the diagnosis before operating.
