Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York
Orthodontistry
My Orthodontist has made my mouth worse, where as he only need to pull down impacted teeth and slightly straighten others the left side of my mouth looks like its been ''fish hooked'' and has caused extreme issues with my top 6 frontal teeth. After speaking to my dentist she also agrees that he has made my mouth worse and now she has decided that I need veneers that will cost up to, if not more than $10,000. Where as I have paid this man $6000+ to ruin my teeth?

Re: Orthodontistry
As with any claim in malpractice, it takes an expert of like kind to say that the target defendant departed from the standards of practice in doing, or not doing, what was necessary. Note: Professionals are entitled to exercise judgment, so what your first orthodontist did or did not do cannot have been a judgment call if you want to pursue a case. It must have been a departure. Another orthodontist, not a dentist, will have to say so. Good luck. Best, ME Zuller
